Go to TOOLS in the menu bar. In the drop down menu pick options. In options remove the tick in "load images automatically". This will prevent all pictures from loading which makes everything go a lot smoother.

On some pages when you login you need to enter a security code. You will not be able to see this when Firefox is setup to not load images. A new window will open up and you will now be able to copy/paste the sites login page address into the box that says "Address of website". After you have done that click the button that says Allow. Reload the page and the image/security code is visible.

4.
Sometimes the counter will not start even though the page is fully loaded on my connection so to get around that I just press the "Stop loading this page" button(BIG RED X) and the counter will appear. Easy as...
Hope this will be useful to you guys out there that like me sit on a crappy connection. Trust me.....the internet here in New Zealand sucks so had to come up with something. :)
